numbers. steve forbes follows up and says welch is right. does governor romney put any stock in those theories and have any suspicions at all about the bls numbers? >> george, the numbers themselves are very damning. when you look at it, we had fewer jobs created in september than were created in august, fewer jobs created in august than were created in july. our unemployment rate has come down because for -- since president obama took office for every new job created more than six workers have left the labor force. if labor force participation was what it was when the president took office, unemployment would be around 10.7%. these jobs that were added in september were largely part-time jobs. so we still have 23 million american, that number has not changed at all, would are either unemployed or out of work entirely or are underemployed working or out of the workforce entirely or underemployed working part time instead of full time or not in a job commensurate with their skills, half of the college students coming out of, you know, with degrees today are unable to find a job. this e

the romney campaign theirs is going to be impressive, but we don't have any numbers. do you have a sense that the romney campaign is keeping pace with that extraordinary fundraising result for the president's campaign? >> you know, i don't know the numbers, but my suspicion is that that's a very impressive number by president obama, and while he was, in essence, his cash on hand began to dwindle starting in may had he spent all the money on tv, this is going to get way in the weeds, but it's very important. if you're obama or romney, the money that you have in your own campaign treasury is the money most easy to spend with the biggest impact, and you're guaranteed, if you're obama or romney in getting the lowest unit rate, the lowest cost for the a tv spot buying from a tv station. outside groups like american crossroads have to pay a premium. president obama spends a dollar, we have to spend more than a dollar to get the same weight of television. a lot more of romney's money is found in the wallet of the republican national committee, and smaller money is found in the democratic

president's approval number tick down in gallup, and his disapproval tick down, we saw mitt romney's tick up a little bit. so it is important to see with the campaigns what they do going forward. and also in terms of the jobs numbers, how the americans feel about the economy. i have been saying this for six to nine months, it is about how they feel. and if this new 7.6 number reflects a big change in the picture, that will reflect how the americans feel. and that will, of course, benefit the president. if they still feel the same about the economy as they did in the past several months, then it doesn't hurt them. but changes the cycle of the overall picture. >> here is what they said about the impact of the debate performance. >> romney got an unfiltered shot. and everybody is taking a second look at him. so the real question to me of the campaign, is can romney take this campaign and run with it? if so the campaign of president obama will only get more negative, that is what fear does. >> so the second look that murphy is talking about, does that have a lasting impact? one or two news cycle

. the romney campaign hasn't released their september numbers just yet. the president ended the week with a romantic dinner with his wife. wednesday was their 20th anniversary, but, of course, he spent that night debating romney. they got away to the four seasons hotel to celebrate, the anniversary, not at the debate. romney has been reaching out to voters in the crucial swing state this weekend. a lot of the talk has been centered on taxes and health care but he's also taken time to talk about his sin expirations and the people he's met on the campaign trail. >> i met someone named jane horton. she also suffered tragedy in her life. her husband christopher was killed in afghanistan as she was packing up a care package when a knock came at the door that he was tragically killed there. what did she do? she didn't fall into sadness and despair, but instead went to work to help other families that had lost loved ones and served our nation. she went to the funeral for her husband when his remains came back and this was at a time when misguided people were protested funeral services of ou
